How it works

Make your mark.
Drop ink on one half of the page. Touch and hold for a drop, drag to pull it, tap to splash.
Fold it shut.
On iPhone Duo, just close the phone – that’s the press. On any other iPhone, lay it face down on the table or pull the page over with your finger. Same on iPad.
Meet your Blotkin.
Open it up. A tiny wizard reads the shape, then the eyes open. Your Blotkin gets a name, a species and a line from its field guide.

What is Blotkins?
A game about ink and surprises. You drop ink on a page, fold it, press it and open it again. The app reads the mirrored shape and turns it into a little creature with a name, a species and a line from its field guide. For more of a challenge there are 60 shapes to hit, a Daily Blot and a weekly challenge.
Which devices can I use?
iPhone and iPad with iOS 17 or later. Blotkins is made for iPhone Duo, where closing the phone presses the page.
Do I need a foldable phone?
No. On any iPhone you lay the phone face down to press the page, or pull the page over with your finger – on iPad too. iPhone Duo simply adds the real fold.
Is Blotkins free?
No. Blotkins is a one-time purchase on the App Store, and the App Store shows the price for your country. There are no in-app purchases, no subscription and no ads.
Can I save or share my creations?
Yes. Every Blotkin you keep stays in your collection. You can share it as a picture card or a six-second video clip, send it as an iMessage sticker and see your newest one in a widget.
Do I need an account?
No. Blotkins works without an account, and its App Store privacy label says: no data collected.
Which languages does it speak?
Twenty-six, from English and German to Japanese and Arabic – including every creature’s species and field-guide line.
